Pain is a symptom of many diseases. It is often denoted in Chinese saying as, “Nine out of ten diseases are related to pain”. Millions of people worldwide are still suffering seriously from pain with physical disability. Yet, most of the available medications could only provide temporary relief and do not offer a safe solution to the problem. Medicines were even recalled from the market for these drugs trigger life-threatening side effects. 

 

Goals of investigating, identifying and developing a new and adequate knowledge of pain management and skills of treatments have become the main focus and concern of medical practitioners. A highly effective procedure and medicine with technological innovation with great successes need to emerge that could help patients to recover from their diseases radically. 

 

All through these years of unceasing studiy and research in the fields of Chinese and modern medical sciences, with state's concern, experts from China Academy of Traditional Chinese Medicine, now known as China Academy of Chinese Medical Sciences (CACMS), have finally overcome a lot of problems and successfully developed a set of world leading herbal medicines under a state-level project of Ministry of Science and Technology of People’s Republic of China called "Spark Program"  that could help answering to all these concerns.
